Radiant Poem

CLOTH OF GOLD---PRELUDE
Thomas Bailey Aldrich

You ask us if by rule or no
Our many-colored songs are wrought?
Upon the cunning loom of thought

We weave our fancies, so and so.
The busy shuttle comes and goes
Across the rhymes, and deftly weaves

A tissue out of autumn leaves
With here a thistle, there a rose.
With art and patience thus is made

The poet's perfect Cloth of Gold
When woven so, nor moth nor mould
Nor time can make its colors fade.

La Fileuse by John Waterhouse

RADIANT SONG

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?

It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Eckhart Tolle - The New Earth

A New Earth (Oprah's Book Club)

In a way this book is -- to a certain degree -- a rehash of the author's previous work titled "The Power of Now." However, if you have already read The Power of Now I still suggest getting "A New Earth" as there is still a great amount of new material. In a way in both books Tolle deals with the same subject matter, but in my opinion he is doing a much better job explaining the subject in this book. The author's soft-spoken manner permeates the whole work and makes it an easy and relaxed reading.

In Tune with the Infinite - Kindle Version

About Kindle from Amazon

Paper-like Screen

Utilizing a new high-resolution display technology called electronic paper, Kindle provides a crisp black-and-white screen that resembles the appearance and readability of printed paper. The screen works using ink, just like books and newspapers, but displays the ink particles electronically. It reflects light like ordinary paper and uses no backlighting, eliminating the glare associated with other electronic displays. As a result, Kindle can be read as easily in bright sunlight as in your living room. The screen never gets hot so you can comfortably read as long as you like.

See what others are saying about the Kindle screen:

Kindle from Amazon

James Patterson, author of You've Been Warned, "The screen is fabulous. You would expect that, with a screen, there would be a glare, it would be hard to read but it's not. There’s no glare. It's not backlit, which is kind of magical. I think people are going to be very, very surprised and delighted. This is a lot easier to read than a lot of books are these days."

Michael Lewis, author of Moneyball, "I'm telling you, after five minutes I've ceased to think I'm looking at a screen. It's not like reading a computer screen. It's more like reading a piece of paper. I think it's actually clearer, easier on the eye than the printed word."

The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

“One of the best books to come along in years. Every sentence rings with truth and power.”

"Ralph Waldo Trine - My Mo Anam cara"

"There is a golden thread that runs through every religion in the world.  There is a golden thread that runs through the lives and teachings to all the prophets, seers, sages and saviours......"

This storyteller loves the invitations that are the writings of Ralph Waldo Trine. Even the titles of his books read like poetry.  There is the wonderful invitation from the title “In Tune with the Infinite” or “The Master Key to this Mystical Life of Ours.”

Trine’s work helped to shape the current crop of self-help books like “The Secret,” “The Law of Attraction” or “The Power of Positive Thinking.”

I have the omnibus edition of this soul friend’s writings. It is well read and well loved. This omnibus edition begins

"There is a golden thread that runs through every religion in the world.  There is a golden thread that runs through the lives and teachings to all the prophets, seers, sages and saviours in the world’s history, through the lives of all great men (and women) of truly great and lasting power.  All they have ever done or attained to has been done in full accordance with law."

What one has done, all may do.  This same golden thread must enter into the lives of all who today in this busy work-a-day world of ours would exchange impotence for power, weakness and suffering for abounding health and strength, pain and unrest for perfect peace, poverty of whatever nature for fullness and plenty."

This golden thread is the same thread that we need to enter the labyrinth – the symbol of the journey to the centre, of being in tune with our infinite self. The golden thread, like the story of the golden Buddha, is hidden.  Most of us have become disillusioned with and disempowered by traditional religious teachings.

Still, the golden thread is there. The golden thread is always there otherwise existence simply could not be. The finite world of time and space and form could not be. As our contemporary seer, Eckhart Tolle tells us in “The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment” the invisible world is the primary world.  This is the understanding at the heart of the Celtic imagination.  This does not mean that the Celts knew ‘about’ the invisible world. It meant that through imagination and symbolic connection they had the direct knowing of this primary attunement with the invisible embrace of the infinite.

Ralph Waldo Trine is a soul friend extraordinaire.  He is a real invitation to attunement with the infinite.  His writings are the Master Key to this Mystical Life of ours.  Like another great soul friend he tells you (as all true soul friends do) that what one has done you can do.

The only real question is – are you prepared to find the golden thread within your own life?  Religion will tell you that this thread exists but it tends to bind you in a particular way.  This golden thread, if you trust it (and it really is the only way to follow it) will lead you on the hero’s journey.

The golden thread takes you into the journey into the dark wood where <insert quote> to quote Dante.  It takes you into a labyrinth of the mind, your mind, where the true way has been lost.  The true way is not a creed.  It is the invitation from creation for you to express the tune it created you to play.

Without being in tune with the Infinite you can live your life and the song inside you will have been left unsung.  You will be left wondering, like the singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen who writes

 Leonard Cohen Book of Belonging

My time is running out

And still I have not

Sung the true song

The great song

When your heart longs to belong to the life of love, which is the real life, then you will not be worried about singing the great song -the song only you can sing ins celebration of who you are and who you know yourself to be.

The wisdom of Ralph Waldo Trine is wisdom indeed. It is the secret of all success. It is to come into the possession of unknown riches, into the realisation of undreamed of powers.

Become attuned to the great song, the song that sings through you. A halleluiah song.

Another Soul Friend - Kahil Gibran

"click on graphic."

At the beginning of this book the Irish mystic George Russell (AE) wrote:

"I dKahlil Gibran_Soul_Friend_and_Propheto not think the East has spoken with so beautiful a voice since the Gitanjali of Rabindranath Tagore as in The Prophet of Kahlil Gibran, who is artist as well as poet.  I have not seen for years a book more beautiful in its thought, and when reading it I understand better than ever before what Socrates meant in the Banquet when he spoke of the beauty of thought which exercises  a deeper enchantment than the beauty of form..... I could quote from every page, and from every page I could find some beautiful and liberating thought."
