To support the development of this site and the work of soul friendship you are invited to express your appreciation through the spiritual practice of Dana
When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me,
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me,
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be.
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree,
For though they may be parted there is still a chance that they will see, Let it be, let it be, .....
And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light, that shines on me, Let it be, let it be, .....

"The Practice of Presence - Reward at no cost at all" Part II
You do not have to do anything. You only need the courage to be childlike and start letting go of what you think you know and learn to know "no thing." This is a practice we all need to learn in order to self regulate rather than self medicate in this 21st Century of noise and haste.
Letting go in the beginning takes practice. Letting go of a full cup of opinions and knowledge takes tremendous courage. The ego is threatened. Ego has worked all of your life to become somebody and now it is being advised to become a master of "no thing." This seems a madness to the logical mind. Learn to lose "your life" and you will find a most wondrous experience. This is not losing the life of the body but "your life" of attachment to any fixed sense of self.
This kind of letting go sounds crazy yet the heart knows that therein lies real sanity. The heart knows therein lies the real freedom. You are free and there are no limitations on your real life. You can go dancing into life. There is no longer such attachment to "your life." You are the master. You become the master of heaven on earth. You have awakened. You have eaten of the tree of "knowing who you are."
This mastery is given to you at birth. Practice to reclaim your birthright. Practice to master the unique dance that you are. Your dance partner is the Beloved. You get to dance with the Beloved and he sends you crazy. You become crazy with love. You and the Beloved become one. You realize this is only "what is." You realize it is only "what is" forever. You awake and you learn that you are nothing other than the play of the Divine. What more to be? What more to ask for.
Practice without looking for results. Practice as a process. Learn to be with the process. This is mastery. You learn to know. You learn to be present until you are the presence. One time you are the perfume of creativity. One time you know nothing and there is that childlike creative moment. There is nothing more you need do. There is nothing more you want. There is only life and you are it. When you are wake up to life you will not walk in woods and see, "Nothing in particular." You will not be asleep to wonder.
To master the "art of no-thing" you must practice without practicing. You simply turn up. You simply take the next step. You are only aware of taking the next step. This step is not compared to the previous step. This step is not considered higher of lower than the last or the next step. Each step is the flow of process. Each step is needed.
Each step takes you into the opportunity of going nowhere. Some-times you feel nearer. Sometimes you feel you are further away. Whether near or far, one time it will happen and you become the step. When this happens you will never forget. You have glimpsed the joy of being "no thing."
Start to become a master. Start to wake up and breathe.
