Radiant Poem

Narcissus by Rainer Maria Rilke

Encircled by her arms as by a shell,
she hears her being murmur,
while forever he endures
the outrage of his too pure image....

Wistfully following their example,
nature re-enters herself;
contemplating its own sap, the flower
becomes too soft, and the boulder hardens....

It's the return of all desire that enters
toward all life embracing itself from afar....
Where does it fall? Under the dwindling
surface, does it hope to renew a center?

RADIANT SONG

ONE OF US

by Joan Osborne

If God had a name what would it be?
And would you call it to his face?
If you were faced with him
In all his glory
What would you ask if you had just one question?

And yeah, yeah, God he is great
Yeah, yeah, God he is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home

If God had a face what would it look like?
And would you wanna to see
If seeing meant that
You would have to believe
In things like heaven and in Jesus and the saints
And all the prophets

And yeah, yeah, God he is great
Yeah, yeah, God he is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home

Trying to make his way home
Back up to heaven all alone
Nobody calling on the phone
Except the Pope maybe in Rome

[Instrumental]

And yeah, yeah, God he is great
Yeah, yeah, God he is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home

Just trying to make his way home
Like a holy rolling stone
Back up to heaven all alone
Just trying to make his way home
Nobody calling on the phone
Except the Pope maybe in Rome.

Radiant Quotations

We are trying to learn how to see God, or the Pure Essence, in everything and everybody and not the demon in them, even in the wicked.  If you see the demon in others, the very same negative forces will swallow you up and you yourself will become a demon in the end.

Ammachi, Awaken Children, Vol 3

Poet _Kahlil Gibran

Jesus: The Son of Man: His Words and His Deeds as Told and Recorded by Those Who Knew Him

Mary Magdalen
On Meeting Jesus for the First Time

IT WAS IN the month of June when I saw Him for the first time. He was walking in the wheat field when I passed by with my handmaidens, and He was alone.

The rhythm of His steps was different from other men's, and the movement of His body was like naught I had seen before.

Men do not pace the earth in that manner. And even now I do not know whether He walked fast or slow.

My handmaidens pointed their fingers at Him and spoke in shy whispers to one another. And I stayed my steps for a moment, and raised my hand to hail Him.

But He did not turn His face, and He did not look at me. And I hated Him. I was swept back into myself, and I was as cold as if I had been in a snow-drift. And I shivered.

That night I beheld Him in my dreaming; and they told me afterward that I screamed in my sleep and was restless upon my bed.

It was in the month of August that I saw Him again, through my window. He was sitting in the shadow of the cypress tree across my garden, and He was still as if

He had been carved out of stone, like the statues in Antioch and other cities of the North Country.

And my slave, the Egyptian, came to me and said, "That man is here again. He is sitting there across your garden."

And I gazed at Him, and my soul quivered within me, for

Echo and Narcissus - John Waterhouse

Echo and Narcissus by John Waterhouse

"Keywords and Phrases - A way of Reflecting your Divine Purpose"

"What if God were google-eyed,?
just a server on the side,
trying to find a way home
to you and me, so all alone"

"Thanks to  Joan Osborne for her song - One of Us - see left?"

A mystic (whose name presently escapes me) invites us to a beautiful remembrance. It is not so much that we are looking for God, The Divine, the Infinite, but that the God, The Divine; The Infinite is looking for us.

With the Divine we are like two lovers who have never quite forgotten the bliss of being together. The Divine is more like a mother totally in love with her child looking for its return. This mother is agog with devotion. She is searching the web of creation for reunion with her child. She gave this child a unique name. It is your name.

This unique name is not your Christian name - or your Jewish, Hindu or Muslim name. It is your unique energetic signature. The mystic Rumi calls it your Universal Song. This is the harmony that the master Jesus invites you into when he calls you to ask 'in his name.' In this invitation he is not inviting you to use his name Jesus. He is inviting the harmonic of Christ consciousness to sound and resound in you.

This creation makes for the joy of creation. One of the key words that you need in order to be prepared to live with this creative purpose is service. Another key word is humility.

These key words, and other related phrases, connected with the unfolding of Divine purpose are not terribly popular. There are those promoting the unfolding of divine purpose through service not to Self but self-service. Such invitation, if it can be graced such a name, is the serving up of an unleashed narcissism.

Divine purpose will humble you. This is not a punishment, although there tends to be an experience of suffering due to resistance to change and the invitation to revelation. Some writers on divine purpose invoke not revelation but revolution. Revealing your divine purpose is not so much something you learn to do as you learn to be surrendered to. This involves the paradox of spiritual practice that is intended to take you to the place that you are already at!

The ego does not like this! The narcissistic self looks in the pool and sees its reflection and falls in Love with itself. Beside this pool is the real invitation - direct awareness of the Divine feminine with the invitation to the divine marriage.  Those who promote divine purpose for their own purpose do not see her.   This is because they themselves are not, what in the long established bardic tradition, are called Seers.

One aspect of a Seer is that they have moved beyond the experience of the first three chakras. These chakras may not be fully integrated but they are integrated enough to contain the invitation from the heart chakra, Anahata, meaning "unbeaten." This is the doorway to Divine purpose. Without integration of the first three chakras that door will not be opened. This is because this energy, as advised by the wisdom teacher Jesus of Nazareth, is an energy that can  only be safely used by the meek and those who are poor in spirit.  The paradox is that humility requires great strength of character.

The heart chakra is the google-eyed point where the human and the Divine purpose meet. Without this energy created from conscious intention to humbly serve the purpose of Love this connection is unavailable. It will burn those who are in anyway arrogant or self-serving. This burning, metaphorically speaking, is part of the initiatory process.  If you serve your ego under the guise of divine purpose expect to get your fingers burned.

This is not because the Divine thinks you are unworthy but because you are searching for the gold of union in the lead mines of your personal sense of self .  In headlong pursuit of your goals and aspirations the reflection you have fallen in love with is called 'little me.' When you serve this sense of self to the exclusion of the Divine then you will find that your divine purpose may well mean all hell is unleashed.  This is not a punishment but a grace.  It is intended to wake you up to your true nature.

Be careful then what you search for. Choose keywords and phrases you intend to reflect and radiate in your life with great care. Humbly honor the gifts inherent in this language of Love and serve with good grace.  Above all, remember that while you may have forgotten how to be the flow of Love in form and time, Love that is timeless does not forget its connection and relationship with you - ever.

Don't spend your time with reflecting your sense of self importance the way that Narcissus does.  Learn to see the way that Mary Magdalen On Meeting Jesus for the First Time sees. (See opposite).  This is the real invitation to divine purpose a real sense of meeting with beauty rather than simply meeting with more. Fall in love with the timeless within you.  If you don't then all else is temporary and falls into dust.  Be glad that you are of two worlds and not just one.

Be glad that this is the way it always is and forever will be.  Amen

Another Soul Friend - Kahil Gibran

"click on graphic."

At the beginning of this book the Irish mystic George Russell (AE) wrote:

"I dKahlil Gibran_Soul_Friend_and_Propheto not think the East has spoken with so beautiful a voice since the Gitanjali of Rabindranath Tagore as in The Prophet of Kahlil Gibran, who is artist as well as poet.  I have not seen for years a book more beautiful in its thought, and when reading it I understand better than ever before what Socrates meant in the Banquet when he spoke of the beauty of thought which exercises  a deeper enchantment than the beauty of form..... I could quote from every page, and from every page I could find some beautiful and liberating thought."
